Bobbye Faye Stothers née Bryant, 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior on
March 17, 2022. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great and
great-great grandmother, and the adored matriarch of her family.

Bobbye spoke fondly of her days as a Merkel High School Cheerleader and
took pride in her time spent singing for The Sweetwater Radio Station, and at
Camp Barkley, in Abilene, for soldiers in the hospital. She was excited to,
after many years, attend her high school reunion. She continued to correspond
with several of her classmates long after the reunion.
She married after high school and moved to Houston, and worked for Hughes
Tool Company, Lykes Steamship Co, and several other companies through the
In addition to being a dedicated and loving Mom and Granny, Bobbye shared
her great love of books, music, and dancing with our family. Among her
hobbies, she enjoyed crafting and painting ceramics, she also had a keen eye
for beautiful things.
She kept in touch with her family daily, through email, and was a great source
of support, inspiration, encouragement, and entertainment to her family as
well as her friends on Facebook. She touched the lives of so many people
across multiple generations, often referring to our closest friends as her “other
daughters”, “other granddaughters”, or “grandson” and the feeling was
always mutual. Bobbye was beautiful, sassy, and funny, with a quick wit and
mischievous grin. She taught us the importance of family and loving each
other. She had a way of making us feel that each of us was “the special one”.
Bobbye was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers; grandsons
Cody and Dave Roberts; great grandchildren Justin Brock and Katye
Schindler, and her son-in-law Danny Wilson.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Janice Dunn, Linda Gail
Wilson, and Judye Bell; grandchildren Robbye Johnson and husband Charlie,
Robert Deisch and wife Charla, Amye Meyer and husband Cory, Cathye Jo
Brock, Sheila Kersh and husband Jerrel, Monty Bell and wife Stephanie; great
grandchildren Ashlee and Alizabeth Johnson, Cheri and Dakota Roberts, Eric,
Sarah, Robert, and Matthew Deisch, Rebecca and Jake Schindler, Samantha
and Zoe Meyer, Lacye and Chad Brock, Casey and Chloe Bell; great-great
grandchildren, Mathias Medrano, Samual, Summer, and Billie Roberts,
Zachary Evens, and two of her dearest friends, Jim Fischer, who she called
grandson, and Ruthie Edwards.
Bobbye held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who
surrounded her. While she loved her life and her family, she looked forward to
the day she met Jesus and the sweet reunion with her loved ones.

well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
