Rev. Paul Emerson

Rev. Paul Simeon Emerson, was born October 2, 1930, in Houston, Texas, and went to his heavenly reward, May 17, 2025. He grew up in Jacksonville, Texas, and graduated from the Jacksonville High School at the age of 15. He worked at the Texas Bank and Trust Company in Jacksonville, for five and a half years, and then at the Haltom City Bank in Haltom City, (Fort Worth), Texas. He attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, now Nelson University. He was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God for over 70 years, did full-time Evangelistic ministry and Pastoral ministry for over 50 years. He had been an evangelist for many years when he met and married Patricia Ann Bell in 1963. Together they continued to hold revivals before becoming the pastor of Northwood / North Central A/G in Houston and Spring, Texas for 42 years. He retired from full-time ministry in 2007 but continued to serve part-time for another 20 plus years.

Paul sincerely loved God, loved people, shared Jesus, and made disciples. He preached Jesus, and saw countless numbers come to know Christ as Savior, healed and baptized in the Holy Spirit. And now he can say with the Apostle Paul, “I have fought the good fight, I finished the race, and I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

He was preceded in death by his parents, Neely and Vada Heath Emerson, his 2 sisters, Eulaine Haws and Neelaine Glover.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, and their 3 sons, David Emerson and wife Sarah, Rev. Larry Emerson and wife Debbie, Rev. Stephen Emerson and wife Natalie, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, other relatives, and a host of church family and friends.

His Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, May 23rd, 1:00 pm, at North Central Church in Spring, Texas. Visitation will be at 12 noon.
