Maurice Ballew (Margie), 93 years of age, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, in Tomball, Texas.

Margie was born September 18, 1929, in Leesville, Louisiana to John and Rose Holton.  She is preceded in death by her older sister, Johnnie, her younger brother, Kenneth, daughters, Sue, Stella and Cindy.  She is survived by her son, James Broaddus, and daughter, Gina Garison (David), her grand-children, Morty, Stacey, Tiffany, Michael, Seth, Kylie and Abigail, as well as several great and great-great grandchildren.

Margie was a successful businesswoman and worked in the areas of accounting and bookkeeping, working her entire life, retiring at the age of 72.  A fierce competitor, Margie loved to play card games, board games and dominoes, and also competed in a bowling league.  She enjoyed time with family.  A great cook, she especially enjoyed cooking everyone’s favorite dishes.  An incredibly thoughtful gift-giver, Margie loved Christmas and any other opportunity to bless family and friends with gifts that were personal and from the heart.  She loved shopping, QVC and the Home Shopping Network.  She also loved to fish and would often talk of all her “great catches”.

At an early age, Margie dedicated her life to Jesus and loved reading her Bible.  She also loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A private service with family is being planned where everyone will be sharing stories, seeing photos and video of her life, and enjoying some of the amazing food that Margie always loved to cook.
