Kenneth Earl Lund

October 7, 1941 — June 16, 2024

Kenneth Earl Lund, 82, passed away on June 16, 2024, at his home in Houston, Texas.

Known by his friends and family as Kenny, he will be remembered as living a full life with a love of music that began at an early age. By eleven years old, Kenny was playing gigs in local night clubs and by high school, he realized he was making more money as a musician than his principal and thus pursued a lifelong career in music. From touring the country playing rock 'n' roll with The Rollercoasters in the 60s, residencies in Bermuda, to his solo career as The Kenny Lund Show, Kenny was always center stage and the life of the party.

In addition to his career in music, Kenny was an avid car enthusiast who excelled at both customization and racing. A true jack-of-all-trades, he also earned a pro-marksman medal in Boy Scouts, his pilot's license, built a house almost single-handedly, worked as an electrician, and is rumored to have been able to pick flowers with an 8 foot long bullwhip.

Kenny is survived by three children from his second marriage to former wife Doris "Autumn" Lund. They include his step-daughter, Cynthia Schaffer and grandchildren; daughter Julie Anne Rich (Fred), granddaughter Lindsey Berkovitz (Dustin) and great granddaughter Maddie, grandson Dustin Berkovitz and great grandchildren Ian and Zoe, grandson Christopher Forister and granddaughter Meredith Rich; daughter Lisa Lynn Argel, grandson George Elliott Argel (Nat Masin), great granddaughters Avery and Sydney.

He is also survived by two daughters from his third marriage to Christine Lund, to whom he remained close after divorce until his passing. Daughters include Dana Christine Castro (Mario) and granddaughter Mila Anne Castro; daughter Norma Marie Schoellman (Stephen) and grandsons Noah Michael Schoellman and Wesley Luke Schoellman.

Kenny also leaves behind his sister, Jean Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews including Jackie Smith, Rusty Smith, Ronnie Smith, Ricky Smith, Delana Hill-Galvan, Jeana Hill, Dennis Mark Lund (Belinda), Anna Louise Everitt (Jeff), James Eric Lund (Neva), Kurt Anton Lund (Dipti), and Christopher Gothard Lund.

Kenny is preceded in death by his parents Sunu Gothard Mortilis Lund and Thelma Norma Lund; older brother Dennis Doyle Lund and his wife Anna Rae Lund; younger sister Dana Lynn Hill; and son-in-law John Argel.
