0n November 5, 2018, Janna Lynn Henderson Hensz passed away suddenly at the age of 59 in Oxley, Arkansas shortly after attending her 100-year grandmother’s memorial service. Jan is survived by her three children, Jason Hensz, Ryan Hensz, Bethany Hensz Huey (married to Brent Huey); and her grandchildren Hannah, Madison, Colin and Evan Huey. She is also survived by her parents Lyndol Ray Henderson, Sr and Barbara Sue Pinson Henderson; sister and brother-in-law, Greg and Debbie Cowie; and brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Mary Ann Henderson, her former husband Patrick Lee Hensz, as well as six nephews, Trent, Tucker and Tyler Cowie and Hayden, Austin and Cameron Henderson. She was proceeded in death by her older brother Ray Henderson.
Jan was born on May 2, 1959 in Odessa, Texas. She spent her formative years in Harlingen, Texas attending Bowie Elementary, Coakley Junior High and Harlingen High School, graduating in 1977. She married Patrick Hensz in 1978 and eventually settled in Houston, Texas, after living in Bryan, Texas, Shreveport, Louisiana and Spokane, Washington. She received her RN from Alvin Community College in 1985 and spent her nursing career in med-surg, emergency room and oncology.
Jan adored her grandkids, and loved her very large extended family. She enjoyed puzzles and board games. She absolutely crushed Candy Crush. She always won in Monopoly, but then again she was always the banker. She was a prolific reader. She was creative and artsy, and enjoyed needlepoint and painting. She also enjoyed tinkering with computers and helping set up websites.
Janna trusted in the saving grace of God through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. She is now present with God in Heaven experiencing joy and peace and is with loved ones who preceded her in death. Jan will be greatly missed by her parents, children, grandchildren, siblings, nephews and her former husband.
