Ajirso Martinez, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, in Spring, Texas, at the age of 75. Born on May 16, 1950, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Ajirso lived a life marked by service, dedication, and unyielding love for his family.

Ajirso had a noteworthy career that began with his honorable service in the United States Air Force, where he served for four years and achieved the rank of Sergeant as a Vietnam Veteran. Following his military service, he dedicated 37 years to the role of a US Customs Agent, a position that placed him in the Twin Towers on the tragic morning of September 11, 2001. By the grace of God, he left the office that day, an experience that reinforced his belief in the value of life and family.

His educational journey included attending Aviation High School, where he studied Aviation Mechanics, laying the groundwork for his future endeavors. Ajirso was not only loyal and hardworking but also possessed a generous and patient spirit. He had a remarkable ability to connect with those around him, treating everyone with respect and never judging others. His friends and family will remember him for his infectious laughter and selfless nature.

Ajirso was a dedicated family man, always present at his children's sports events and family gatherings. He cherished spending time with his beloved family, which includes his spouse, Ana Martinez; his sons, Eric and Jason Martinez; his siblings, Nilda and Alfredo Martinez; and his grandchildren: Elijah, Hailey, Jaylon, Julien, and Johnathan. The joy of his life extended to his great-grandchildren, Mia, Ashlyn, Elena, Dylan, Kapri, and Genesis, all of whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his professional achievements and devotion to family, Ajirso enjoyed hobbies that reflected his nurturing personality. He found joy in gardening and took pleasure in building and working on various projects. His home was always a gathering place for family and friends, where memories were made and shared.

Ajirso Martinez's life will be celebrated with a graveside service on February 3, 2026, at Houston National Cemetery, located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038. The service will begin at 11:15 AM, with closure to follow at 12:15 PM.

Ajirso leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His spirit of generosity, his laughter, and his unwavering support for his family will be profoundly missed but will continue to inspire those who carry his memory forward.
