Helen LaVerne Patterson

Helen LaVerne Patterson was born in LaPorte, TX to the parentage of Earvin and Ruth Patterson. She was a very caring yet straight-forward person who loved jazz, to travel, and reading. Retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after several years as an Admin Assistant and later worked at Bennett College in NC and with Bank One.

Preceded in death by father and mother, as well as brothers: John, Melvin and Marlin Patterson, niece Janice Session, nephew John W Patterson, and niece Kimberly Cross..

Survived by aunt Marjorie Patterson, brother Raymond Jacob, nephew Mark Patterson ( Sonya) and God-daughters Cisselon Hurd and Kelli Murray. She had a host of great nephews, great nieces, cousins and friends. Also left to cherish her memories, cousin in law Valdora M Phillips and three devoted friends Derrick Greene, Linda Acock and Melva Roy.

Ceremony of Life was previously held on Saturday April 25, 2026.
