Glenn Alan Wurst

December 24, 1959 — January 15, 2023

Glenn Wurst went to his eternal reward on January 15, 2023. This ended a struggle with the symptoms of COVID and the ensuing pneumonia which overtook his lungs. Glenn had endured many years of chronic pain. His struggle is over.

Glenn is survived by William (Fred) Wurst (89) and his wife Carol Greaney Wurst (90) and Eleanor Larpenter Wurst (87) and his sister Dana Wurst Spinler. Dana is married to Anthony Spinler and they have 3 children Sam, Jaron, and Shanie. His family and friends will meet on Feb 3 to honor his life at Church Project

Glenn had a diverse life. After being born in Houston, TX on 12-24-1959, he spent most of his life in Southeast Texas except for a brief time in his early years when his family lived in Baton Rouge. After graduating high school, he worked different positions in supplier and manufacturing companies. In 1999, he had a surgery on his back to repair his scoliosis. He then went to college and graduated from University of Houston Clear Lake with a BA.

During his college years, he rekindled his talent for painting which had started back in junior high when his parents signed him up for classes after witnessing his natural talent. Many of his friends and family are blessed to have his work hanging in their homes. His talents and hobbies include playing guitar and photography. He had a collection of guitars and attended many famous concerts both large and small. He formed a band with his friends and did that garage band thing many other musicians only dream about. Additionally, he loved the outdoors and spent many hours in the Gulf of Mexico either fishing, surfing or just watching the waves.

Glenn was known as a loyal person, keeping friends he has had since he was 15 years old. He was known for his love of extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins always insisting on calling, visiting, and even liked writing down the history of the Larpenter and Wurst clans. All of us have enjoyed his sense of fun and laughter through the years. We will miss him. We are thankful he is in a where there is no more tears and pain.
