Debbie Guillot Smith, age 71, passed away peacefully March 4, 2023, of natural causes. Debbie resided in Huffman, Texas with her husband Richard Smith, and their two dogs, Ike and Princess. She was born on January 2, 1952, in Port Arthur, Texas, to L.J. Istre and Nettie Landry Hebert. Debbie graduated from Bridge City High School in 1970 and later married her high school sweetheart Stanley J. Guillot. Debbie and Stanley had two children, Kevin and Christine; they were married for twenty-five years before Stanley sadly passed away in 1995 of cancer.

Debbie devoted 30 years of her life in service to her community with the Bridge City Volunteer Fire Department as a dispatcher and as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a long-time member, President and Vice President of the East Texas Firemen's & Fire Marshals' Association Ladies Auxiliary.

In 2010, Debbie relocated to Huffman, Texas with her son Kevin and daughter-n-law Jennifer, where she met her husband Richard and remained until her passing. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Richard Smith; children: Kevin Guillot and wife; Christine Guillot Brown & husband Rodney; Melissa Smith McDonald; siblings: Rosemary McClanahan, Louise Hebert, Felix Hebert Jr In-Laws Jerry Smith, Donny Smith & wife Sharon. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren: Tiffany Zumwalt, Hailee Scott, Kristen Orris, Courtney Hamm, Eric Brown, Daniel Brown, Rayden Clanton, Makenzie Guillot, Joshua Smith Norton, Madison Rogers, and Haden Rogers and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Debbie is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. Guillot; parents, Nettie Landry Hebert and Felix R. Hebert, L.J. Istre; in-laws, Marie Guillot, Weldon and Doris Smith; siblings, Eddie Istre and Lucy Istre Casey, and nephews, David Istre and Jeremy Cogar.
