Carolyn Swartwout Tynan

Carolyn Swartwout Tynan, 90, passed away on March 17, 2019 in her home in Houston, Texas. She was born on March 30, 1928, in Tampa, Florida to Lucile Glenn and Leslie George Swartwout. After graduating from Cypress Fairbanks High School, she married Sterling Price. She was predeceased by husbands Allen Wendell Brown, Robert Emmett Tynan and step-son Robert Steven Tynan. She is survived by her children, Karen Price and Kathleen  & Joseph Smith, and grandchildren Harry “Clay” Webster, James & Cheree Webster, Margaret Ollier Webster & Wayne Griswold, David Webster, Nicholas Smith, Alexis Smith and great grandchildren Jonathan Wheeler, Cheyanne Wheeler, Preston Wheeler, Uriah Ollier, Logan Delsante and Mason Griswold. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Anne & Leslie Swartwout, Lucile & Jack Emmott, and Margaret & Otis Hiebeler.  She was blessed with 3 generations of nieces and nephews and many friends. Carolyn was a former member of the Daughters of the Revolution, Junior League in Tyler, Texas and also led the children’s Church choir at Holy Family Episcopal Church in Park Forest, Illinois. She was a Girl Scout and Brownie Troop leader and thoroughly enjoyed working with children of all ages.
