Andres Peña Tovar, age 81, was born on February 4, 1945, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, and peacefully entered eternal rest on June 27, 2026, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.
Andres was the beloved son of Avelino Peña Gomez and Ventura Tovar Espinosa. He was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was marked by resilience, hard work, and a deep love for his family. Although he made his home in Illinois for many years, his Mexican roots remained an important part of his identity and heritage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Avelino Peña Gomez and Ventura Tovar Espinosa, his beloved stepdaughter Irma G. Trevino, his beloved granddaughters Fabiana Trevino and Sofia Vela.
He is survived by his former wife and cherished friend, Ambrosia Peña, with whom he shared many years and a lasting friendship. He also leaves behind his loving daughters: Ventura Peña (Gilbert Myers), Leonor Peña (Armando Dominguez), Stepdaughters Maria Razo (Alberto Razo), Oralia Vela, and Agustina Campos. Andres was a proud grandfather to Idaliz Dominguez, Andres Dominguez, Victoria Montoya, Jonathan Trevino, Danielle Trevino, Veronica Vela, Adrian Razo, Jose Razo, Jordan Trevino, Juanita Trevino, Lawrence Trevino, and Kairi Campos. He was also blessed with 19 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Andres will be remembered for his strength, wisdom, love for his family. His presence, guidance, and kindness that will be remembered forever.
The family would also like to acknowledge the extraordinary care and devotion shown during the final years of his life. To his daughters, step-daughters, niece Rosalba Vidales Tovar, cousin Jose Tovar Arana whose time, love, and dedication helped make his days more comfortable and meaningful.
Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on through the family he loved.
May Andres Peña Tovar rest in eternal peace.
