Andrea Kay Boyd Vega

January 21, 1954 — May 23, 2026

Houston

Andrea Kay Boyd Vega, a beloved and cherished soul, went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Born on January 21, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas, Andrea graced the world with her presence for over seven decades, leaving behind a legacy of strength, faith, and love that touched all who knew her.

Andrea was a woman of profound character and depth. God-fearing and fiercely determined, she carried herself with a confident and divinely feminine grace. Known for her wit and intelligence, she was as quick with a joke as she was with a kind and encouraging word. Those who were fortunate to know her recognized her giving heart—a heart dedicated not only to her loved ones but also to instilling the values of integrity and righteousness, teaching that one should always do what is right, even when no one is watching.

Her interests and talents were as diverse as her spirit. Andrea found joy in sewing, knitting, and crafting, pursuits that reflected her creative nature and attention to detail. She was also a gifted singer and artist, with a love for drawing and religious studies that further enriched her vibrant soul. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, she carried her passion for the team with the same enthusiasm and loyalty she showed in all aspects of her life.

Andrea’s family held a special place in her heart, and her children remember her with fond and heartfelt memories. Sergio treasured their long car rides filled with music, dancing, and moments of quiet prayer before meals. Adan recalls the imaginative baptisms she performed in their childhood bathtub, wrapping them in white pillowcases as makeshift robes, creating cherished moments of faith and fun. Juan Jr., affectionately known as Cito, fondly remembers Andrea’s lively and joyful spirit during Thanksgiving celebrations, where her exuberance filled the room with laughter and song.

Andrea leaves behind her loving siblings Adrienne Boyd Johnson, Brian Earl Boyd, Angela Boyd Lucas, and Allyson Boyd Bell, as well as her devoted children: Aubrey John Harper, Alan Julian Harper, Juan Enrique Vega Jr., Adan Enrique Vega, Sergio Isadore Vega, Roberto Samuel Vega, and Armand Gabriel Vega. Her memory will also forever live in the hearts of her beloved grandchildren—Jonathan Ashe Harper, Addison Harper, Andrew Harper, Abigail Harper and Baxton (RICO) Vega.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Gerald L. Boyd, John E. Boyd, Audrey E. Dorian, and Alicia D. Lewis, whose memories she cherished deeply.
